Volunteering Requirement for Graminia Community League (GCL)

Rainbow Playschool does not pay rent to Graminia Community League for the use of the hall. In return, Rainbow Playschool parents are required to provide 6 hours (in total) of volunteer services for Graminia Community League.

Two deposits are required for each semester. One cheque of $75 postdated for December 1 and the second postdated for May 1. Please make cheques payable to Rainbow Playschool. This deposit is held until the end of December and May and only cashed in the event of non-participation.

Volunteer opportunities will be offered throughout the school year for families to cover their GCL volunteer requirement.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

Social Events - Social events include, but are not limited to Carnival, Bingos, Harvest Supper, Garage Sale, Ladies Shopping, Craft Sale, T-Ball, and Dances.

Work Bees - Jobs to be done for the upkeep and improvement of the hall and/or grounds. GCL will determine the event equivalency on a case by case basis.

Casino - Approximately every 3 years, GCL is granted a casino. These require a large number of volunteers. GCL will determine the event equivalency for each casino shift.

In the event of non-participation the Volunteer Deposit cheque will be cashed.

Parents who are unable to participate in any GCL volunteering due to medical or employment conflicts may inquire about paying the full $150 at the beginning of the school year.
